Social Psychology and Economics in Environmental Research (SPEER)
January 1999 - April 2000

Funded by the European Science Foundation (ESF)
with support from the UK Environment Agency and English Nature

PROJECT AIMS

The SPEER project had the following aims:

identify European researchers with a background in social psychology and economics in environmental research;
run two workshops as a focus for stimulating new ideas;
stimulate reassessment of past research projects and findings;
exchange work and learn more about each others institutions;
map out areas of interaction between economics, social psychology and philosophy;
develop new policy-relevant research ideas;
identify areas for cooperation between those interested in economics and social psychology in addressing resource and environmental issues.
